Jailbait Jailbait was created on January 17th after a weird moment sitting in the library a couple weeks after reading Boy Meets Boy. The concepts were sketchy, the ideas were vague, but being the lazy-yet-strangely-enthusiastic creature I am, it was plenty enough to go on. Kym was born first, who was meant to be this cold yet somewhat adorable character.
That position was changed to be taken by Cam, who was paired with the ridiculously violent, allergic-to-girls Niki. Kym came in later instead as Cam's ex, and has perhaps been one of the most abused and unloved characters Jailbait has had yet. His lack of ears originally came from the artist's frustration at not having the hindsight to actually do character designs first (all the characters were thought up and drawn immediately
into strips-- there was no prior character designing) and hence having to erase and draw in Kym's hair again and again in an attempt to get it to look vaguely how she envisioned his character to be. Later, she decided to stop stomping on one of her favorite JB characters and decided to give him his ears back.
Many of the early Jailbait strips were, like the characters, written as it went along. It was only later that the artist decided to
stop being a lazy arse and to actually try some form of scripting so as to have a comic that didn't sound so utterly ridiculous.
Jailbait was, and still is, the first (and therefore the most experimental) comic the artist has ever done.
Writer/artist/all-around slacker
Rachel was born on the twenty-second of October, 1988, making her a Libran Dragon. She currently resides in Hong Kong and is of Chinese ethnicity, although she can barely speak the language and knows almost nothing of the culture. She considers herself to be blessed with a creative eccentric imagination and cursed with a lack of talent to bring out her creative ideas. She is currently taking the International Bacchalaureate in high school, which,
sadly, causes her much stress and occasional snaps in sanity, which she believes does actually affect her work. She studies Art at a higher level in school, however, she is ironically incapable of 'drawing properly'.
Rachel's main love is, and shall forever be, comic books and cartoons. She mostly enjoys work by DC Comics and is an obsessive collecter and couch potato of books and cartoons such as Robin and Justice League. She mainly
fangirls for characters within the Batfamily and for any characters that are able of making her laugh-- mainly, Green Arrow. She used to love the characters of Young Justice, but frankly finds them a lot more dislikeable now that they've been moved to Teen Titans. Rachel also has a huge love of slash, and would, if she could, devote the rest of her life to reading, writing and drawing slash.
She is however sadly opposed by the education
system. Damn them all.
